Symmetry achieved via some simple cabinetry work - a small 'hack'

So the width of our kitchen didn't allow one additional cabinet, and we didn't want about 9" of spacers and the loss of space that meant.  My spouse used cover panels and created the custom shelf unit in the centre of our main wall of cabinets.  You can't tell to look at it, but it isn't the same width at the top and bottom.  Building this ourselves let us adjust for that and fill the space in a way that was practical and aesthetically pleasing.
