With Earth Month lightly tapping at our front doors, I'd like to know what your favorite sustainable IKEA product is. I'm going to go with our HOPPVALS (Room darkening cellular blind). This blind’s structure creates a layer of insulation to help reduce heating costs. Tell me that's not genius! 🌎❤️

Thank you for sharing, Alvyn 😍 For me, it is the OLIVBLAD (Plant stand). This product allows me to add plants, which purifies my space. How great is that 🤓

What a great question! I think IKEA's ScrapsBook was really neat! Definitely made me view cooking ingredients a little differently.

What an even greater answer! The fact that you can get the E-book for free is 👌💋 (chef's kiss).

I'm really a fan of reusing and upcycling. I own many pieces of Ikea furniture that were previously enjoyed, including the MOLGER accessories in my bathroom renovation.
But for just pure sustainable design, nothing beats the LACK (Side table) and the rest of the LACK series. Along with several other series (like EXPEDIT) and even the LINNMON / ADILS (Desk) I'm using right now, IKEA's hollow-mostly-air pieces are an engineering marvel. They're light and easy to move and assemble, they're rugged enough for a really good amount of use, and they use a tiny fraction of the materials that would otherwise be required... and most of that material is recycled paper and cardboard!
It boggles the mind!

You're so right! At this point I'm totally convinced that LACK tables are virtually indestructible!

They can never go wrong. I'm a huge fan of the LACK (Side table)! Whenever I show guests the table, they're always shocked by how light it is.

Agreed...except Hoppvals have disappeared from IKEA Canada online. A light-filtering set was purchased to test for size, fit and appearance, which turned out well. An attempt the NEXT week to purchase 5 more was met with "not found" and IKEA help knew nothing about it saying something like "there's nothing in the system...". There's nothing more frustrating than finding a perfect fit and application for hot weather control, and then having it disappear without a trace.
