UPPSPEL Sit/stand Misalignment

Hi

Recently bought the 180cm uppspel set. However, during assembly, I realized that the table top's pre-drilled holes do not align with the holes on the underframe. I have followed the instructions thoroughly and have even gone back to double check. I ensured that the frame was in the 180 cm configuration, where the bars were locked in at the #2 position instead of #1. However, the underframe is still mismatched by about 0.5cm. So one side of the table top cannot be screwed in. Was wondering if anyone can offer me any insight on why this is and how I can resolve this?

Hej  @MichaelDingYi, we're sorry to hear that. Would you be able to send us pictures of this defect?

Hi

Thanks for the reply

These are the pictures. They show how the left underside of the tabletop is properly installed but not the right, since there is a misalignment of the pre-drilled holes.

Moreover, one of the pics also showcases how the middle part of the underframe is installed properly in the 180cm configuration as demonstrated on page 11 of the assembly manual at: https://www.ikea.com/ca/en/assembly_instructions/uppspel-sit-stand-underframe-for-table-top-black__A...

This is what's confusing me the most right now. The frame is properly installed, and all four provided screws are also properly installed in the 180 cm position. But the holes under the table top do not line up with the holes on the underframe.

Thank you for following up with us, Michael. Based on the photos sent, it looks like there may be a defect with this product. We would recommend bringing it back to your nearest IKEA location so we can take a closer look in person.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused.

Oh that is an absolute bummer. This set is extremely heavy. Like a good 100 lbs to say the least. Do you think the defect is with the frame or the table top? Because this is a real bummer since this is probably the hardest to build and most difficult to carry/transport set I have bought.

We completely understand and we cannot begin to apologize for any inconvenience caused by this issue.

We regrettably can’t assess the issue further remotely, as the problem is hard to identify using only photos. We would actually recommend watching an assembly tutorial on this product to see if that helps identify the issue. We found one that may help, but there are others on YouTube that you may want to check out.

If the issue persists, we regrettably can only recommend bringing the item back in-store so we can take a closer look.
