Unusual ikea mattress size

Solved Go to answer

Hi everyone, I have a question for a long time IKEA people. I have a couple of foam mattresses that my parents bought from IKEA in the 1980s. They’re at my cottage. They’re a strange size about 80 inches long and about 42 inches wide so bigger than a twin XL but narrower than a double. Does anyone know about these and what the actual size in centimetres is? I’m trying to get new ones made as they’re no longer available as a standard size anywhere and these ones are so old it’s hard to get a precise measurement. Thank you

Mystery solved - I found some old ikea catalogues from the 80s online at the ikea museum and there’s my mattress - called Sencello - 105 x 200 x 12 cms.

Hej,

Thanks so much for reaching out! Unfortunately, we can only recommend measuring the mattresses themselves to get a more precise idea of the sizing.

We’re sorry we couldn’t be of more assistance!

Huh. That sounds like a truck-sized matress.
It's the size used in long-haul semi-tucks and some RVs. I had no idea Ikea ever made those.

Amazing detective work! I love the old catalogues on the museum website!

So it really is just a hair smaller than a truck-sized matress. Might make your life easier to just buy a pre-made one?
