Slats don’t fit Utaker bed?

Hello!

I was ultra pumped to find a twin Utaker stackable bed in the As-is section yesterday. However, I was quite deflated once I got it put together and found out that the Luroy slats are over an inch too long to fit. Was this bed suppose to come with its own slats?

Hej! Thank you for being part of the IKEA community. After looking into your enquiry, I was able to see that the slatted bed base is supposed to be included with the UTÅKER stackable bed. If this wasn't the case, please visit us in-store to have the rectified the matter. Have a wonderful day.

Thank you for the reply. I was in store today and an associate told me to purchase the smaller Luroys. I did but they are ridiculously too small. I called IKEA and they told me I was out of luck, so now I guess I have to take the beds apart and return them. They are useless without the slats.

Thanks for writing back! Sometimes, when customers return damaged items, parts are salvageable so, we keep them in an area called the Recovery section. You can try asking your local IKEA store if they might have a pair of UTÅKER (Stackable bed) slats there.

I did ask my local IKEA if they had the Utaker slats, they had none in stock but steered me to the smaller Luroys. Anyway, I’m closing the door on this one. My sweet deal turned into a major annoyance.
