Repairing a Tobias chair?

We have six chairs and 4 of them have a crack starting at the bottom of the seat.  I placed clear tape on the crack to stop or slow the cracking and to make sure no one’s was pinched … down there..😳. Looking to see if there is a better fix or an exchange program for these chairs? Any thoughts would be great.

If the product was purchased within this timeframe, we welcome you to visit your nearest IKEA location with your proof of purchase so we can take a look for you.

Is there a repair method to be used on the chair? I know lots of complaints about the chair?
