Why does the new Ikea Kitchen Brochure cover show a 15" x 15" wall cabinet that the new Ikea Kitchen Guide has deleted from the line? And why has Ikea deleted so many of the smaller wall cabinet box sizes?
Laid out a new cottage kitchen along with planning for a new laundry / pantry this past Spring. The work plan was to spend the Summer keeping our present cottage kitchen in place (also an Ikea kitchen but circa late 1970s), so that we could finally enjoy having some friends up for the first time since Covid, and then in September / October, before closing up, we'd do the renovations to support the new cabinetry.
We thought to avoid all the supply-chain shortages by giving ourselves the whole winter to get everything delivered. Then in the Spring assembly and install of all the cabinets could be completed before the Cottaging Season really kicked in.
But when we went to assemble the order several of the smaller wall cabinets were no longer available, even though one size - 15"H x 15"W is shown both on the cover and inside the new Kitchen Brochure. Apparently the smaller doors are available for ordering - the 15"H x 30"W cabinet has 15"H x 15"W doors, the 15"H x 36"W cabinet has 15"H x 18"W doors, the 20"H x 30"W cabinet has 20"H x 15"W doors, and the 20"H x 36"W cabinet has 20"H x 18"W doors. But the wall cabinet boxes that fit these single doors are no longer available.
So it appears we have two choices, redo the layouts to match the now reduced Ikea wall cabinet selection (tried a few things but my wife still prefers what we had originally decided upon) OR figure out the wall cabinet boxes to order so that we get the right parts to easily cut down and re-size the boxes to the dimensions we want to match the available door sizes.
Anybody else have another suggestion?
And does anybody know if its legal for a store to advertise a product that it no longer carries?

The item shown on the new Kitchen Brochure cover but no longer available is the W15" x D14.75" x H15" wall cabinet (Item No. 102.654.67), while the other wall cabinet where the door is available but not the box is the W18" x D14.75" x H20" (Item No. 502.654.65), and the wall cabinet where the door has disappeared from the new Kitchen Guide as well is the W21" x D14.75" x H20" (Item No. 402.654.61).

Hej,
Thanks so much for bringing this to our attention. We cannot apologize enough for the extended issues you’ve been facing while trying to get your kitchen set up. As a homeowner, this experience should be an exciting and positive one, and we’re sorry that supply issues have thrown a kink in the process.
If you’d like to let us know your nearest IKEA location, while also sending us the article numbers of the cabinets you need to purchase, we can gladly look into restocking times for you.
We look forward to your reply.

Oops, forgot to say that the local Ikea is Etobicoke.

Thank you for responding. I looked into the stock levels of our IKEA Etobicoke store and can confirm that there are 49 units in stock for article number: 102.654.67. For article number: 502.654.65, there are 19 units in stock. The last article number (402.654.61) you shared does not populate in our system. You can review the number and respond to this thread. Tack!

Thank you for the info.
Its strange that Ikea has in-stock items that don't appear in your buying guide, and can't be accessed in your on-line kitchen design app. Are these left over stock that I should buy up before they are all gone forever or will these sizes be restocked in the future? Just need to know how much time I have while I redesign around the fact that there is no longer a W21" x H20" cabinet.
As for the now disappeared W21" x H20" cabinet, my guess is because you don't carry 42" wide x H20" cabinets there aren't any pairs of 21" wide doors and therefore no need to carry the cabinet size for the single door.

It's possible, @Frustrated23. It could be that those items are low in stock and/or part of our supply issue. Usually, these items are re-added at a later time or replaced with alternatives.
