Installing MITTLED spotlight in MILSBO cabinet

Solved Go to answer

Hello,

I have not been able to find much info on lighting a MILSBO cabinet online as most of it centers around using it as a greenhouse which is not my use case. I'm thinking of installing MITTLED spotlight but would like to confirm how these attach to the ceiling of the cabinet first? It's clearly an intended use case according to the instructions of the cabinet but they don't show how its meant to be done.

MILSBO: 303.964.48
MITTLED: 504.721.39

Tack in advance

I had the chance to go to an Ikea this week. The HALVKLART were smaller than I expected so I decided to go back to using the MITTLED. I can confirm they do not come with double sided tape currently however I did have an idea before going that makes this whole affair an non issue: Magnets.
A small slim disc magnet behind each of the MITTLED will allow them to stick without worry that they might come off, or at least come off this century. I've tested and the MITTLED's back assembly will stick to magnet, and while it's not flush, the lights won't stick out noticeably.
Hopefully this helps someone else too in the future.

Hej,

Thanks so much for reaching out! We can definitely help out with this one. If you check the assembly instructions for the MITTLED itself, they show how the light is mounted to the underside of a cabinet.

We hope this helps!

This is for use with the MILSBO which has a sheet metal top. With the instructions I can see for the MITTLED, the screws would be a terrible solution as it makes the top of the cabinet a hazard if done that way or would require to drill significant hole in the top to accommodate the spotlight's frame. There might have been adhesive in the past just like for the cable runner, but it's not the case currently from what I can tell.

Thanks for writing back,  @Eddyall. That's a great point. In this case, we recommend trying our HALVKLART (LED cabinet spotlight) since it has a sticky backing.

Thank you too, I will check in store what's on offer, the Halvklart was a second choice for me due to being designed for lighting a smaller/wider area than the Mittled. But actually maybe the smaller light could work better with getting a couple more and spreading them out inside the cabinet.

We hope you can find something that suits your liking! In the meantime, if there’s ever anything else we can help with, please let us know!
