Has the Taper on Bergmund Chair Backs Changed?

Hi,

We purchased some Bergmund seat covers to replace/rotate with our existing covers.  We purchased them (blue pattern) a couple of months ago and went to change them for Thanksgiving weekend.  There is absolutely no way to pull these onto the chairs.  In fact, the seam came apart while attempting it because it was just tight.  There is absolutely no way these covers were going to pulled onto the chairs.  The old covers were put back on.

As the taper on the back of the chair changed?  We purchased the chairs in July 2019 and the new covers during August 2022.

Thanks for the offer but I have spent enough time on this.  I confirmed my suspicion by checking the reviews on the product.  A number of people have the same problem.
