EKET Cabinet with door and shelf

Looking for information for the EKET cab with shelf. I need to know what is the load capacity for the shelf

Thanks for your post, and welcome to the community. Usually, only furniture pieces like chairs, bed frames and shelving units have their maximum weight capacities tested. For this reason, we do not have this kind of information available for the EKET (Cabinet with door and shelf). Also, if you plan to install it on your wall, keep in mind that the maximum load depends on the type of wall material.

Thank you for your answer, I've been looking for a long time for a storage solution for my ever growing vinyl collection, and the EKET seems ideal to store my albums, since this could be a heavy load, in theory the shelf can hold 70 albums,that's about  22.5 kg. The cabinets would be on the floor with short legs.

Thanks for letting us know,  @AmCam! After looking into this further, we can confirm that the maximum load capacity for the shelf is about 7 KG. We hope this helps!

Finally I got the EKET cabinet with door and shelf, dark gray, 13 3/4x13 3/4x27 1/2 " (503.449.29) for my vinyl collection, after some mods y I can store them. First I have to move the shelf to make the height similar in both spaces (about 12" high) and added four corner brackets to reinforce the shelf. Replaced the back cardboard  with a piece of 1/8" hardboard nailed on the back, with this mod I gained 1/2" needed to fit the 12" vinyl albums. Now my collection have a new home. Too bad the cab comes only in white and dark gray. foot, adjustable, metal 703.400.44 Corner brackets to reinforce shelf Project completed Project completed

Ikea sold turntables back in 1973...the one in the picture was released in Europe last fall, I hope they will offer a storage solution for the records 😊

No, I don't, It was on display at the Ikea store in Lisbon, I was shopping there while visiting my family, not for sale in North America yet,

Thanks for following up! We sadly don’t have much information about this product coming to Canada, but hopefully it makes it to our range soon! IKEA KALLAX shelves are always a staple of record collections, so we’d love to offer even more options to the vinyl community.
