Delivery to Newfoundland

I have been trying to place an order now for weeks just to get a message saying the service is temporarily unavailable every time I try. I just spoke with an IKEA agent who informed me that they are no longer shipping to Newfoundland and if i want to place an order i have to do a pick up from Halifax (the closest store) and contact and arrange my own transportation company... I have a kitchen and master closet half built as Ive been placing orders since November due to low stock and now have no idea where to go from here. Would prefer not to pay a fortune hiring a transport company to pick up and ship the order for me.

Hej! Thank you for being part of the community. I completely understand your concern and sincerely apologize that the service you are looking to schedule with us is currently unavailable. I would have wanted to provide you with another alternative option but I am sorry to let you know that placing an order and having it picked up from our Halifax store remains the only available option at the moment. Thank you for your understanding.

When you say “Halifax store remains the only option at the moment.”

Does that mean there are conversations in the works to find a solution to this? Is the intention to eventually find a new way to ship to Newfoundland? What about the dedicated collection point?

Yes, we are indeed working towards expanding our delivery coverage. However, I do not know when this service will be available in the requested region. In terms of opening a Collection Point in Newfoundland, it is not in the works, but I'll share the feedback internally for future consideration.

The story gets better. I tried returning my items ordered so far as i can no longer finish my closet or kitchen just to be told by customer support that the only way to return my items is to drive to the nearest store. The store which is a 14 hour drive followed by a 8 hour ferry ride away.... IKEA has to do better when you're claiming to have a 365 day no hassle rerun policy.

Thank you for sharing your feedback, and I apologize for any inconvenience this situation may cause you. Rest assured that I have shared your comments internally for future consideration.
